WHAT IS A SIZZLE REEL?

If you are trying to get funding for a TV Show Idea or Film, you will need a Sizzle Reel. Sizzle Reels are sometimes referred to as Sizzle Video, trailer, promo or demo reel. The Sizzle Reel that will get you funded, is like a highly creative visual business mission statement, for your production - but in 3-5min video format.
When approaching TV Networks or funding bodies, they will first ask to see two things; your Pitch Document, and your Sizzle Reel. You will probably not even get an meeting, without these two things. Executives will not want to hear your pitch, until they hit play, and experience your idea. Even if you are pitching for crowd funding, you will still need a Sizzle Reel for your campaign.
Your Sizzle Video - or Sizzle Reel as they are often called - will need to strongly demonstrate why the idea is unique, its target audience, its marketing potential, how the stories work, the show format, and be intertwined with every entertainment 'marketing hook in the book' finance Executives will understand.
